NBC Cancels ‘Quantum Leap’ after Two Seasons
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has cancelled Quantum Leap after only two seasons, the second of which garnered one of the network’s lowest ratings of the year.
It is NBC’s first cancellation of the season, while all but one of the network’s Dick Wolf shows (Law & Order: Organized Crime is “still under discussion”) have been renewed. Additionally, first year dramas “Found” and “The Irrational” have confirmed second seasons.
Though Quantum Leap had the name recognition of the 1989 cult classic, which earned 32 Emmy awards and nominations during its run, and the star power of Raymond Lee at the helm, the reboot never seemed to turn in the necessary numbers. The actor took to Instagram on the sixth to let his fans know, he was “so proud of the show we made.”
